The Southern Connecticut Black Chamber of Commerce is committed to the economic growth and sustainability of minority - owned businesses. Our goal is to bridge the gaps between minority businesses and information, technology, capital, and legislation. This has been an exciting year for the Southern Connecticut Black Chamber of Commerce. We have stayed true to the mission of the organization in maintaining our focus on supporting our members in their entrepreneurial ventures. We accomplished this by educating our members and business community. In 2009 we were able to bring in speakers and sponsor seminars that provide

relevant information to our membership and by getting involved in programs and economic projects that help develop new business. We believe that a diverse economy is not only morally and ethically expedient, but profitable as well.

The new ideas and creativity from our region's diverse pool of ethnicity and culture is a valuable untapped asset. In order for our country to truly embrace change its economy must reflect the diversity of its citizens. The pledge of the Southern Connecticut Black Chamber of Commerce is to be a facilitator of that change.Thank you for allowing me this opportunity to serve as President of the Southern Connecticut Black Chamber of Commerce and for the confidence and support you have so graciously shown me this year. I pay tribute to the dedicated Executive Board members who shared the vision, embraced change, and are committed to make positive things happen in our community.
